This is why “ZoeC Costumes” is so successful, as we provide a one-stop shop for outfits and accessories.

The marketing is simple and orders are generated by direct word of mouth referrals and advertising in your local newspaper. The children themselves will advertise for you. As soon as one little Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella appears in a group of close friends, they will all want their turn (for rental or purchase purposes).

Apart from that, we supply the surrounding schools (Playgroups, Nursery Schools, Medical Offices etc) with our laminated colour brochure and with every outfit collected by our customers, we insert our business card. So as a franchise holder we encourage you to do the same so you can rent out or sell the costumes.

We have always believed in the importance of being at home with the little ones and since this concept has been tried and tested, we would like to make the business opportunity available to other moms who are also in need of generating an extra income.  It is a simple business to run with no need to carry unnecessary stock or invest in expensive operating equipment.

Your start up costs are minimal in comparison to purchasing any other existing business that may be for sale.  Our intention is to assist other women to start their own “ZoeC Costumes” in their area.  You can decide how much you would like to expand the concept with various options available. These are dealt with in the “Marketing and Operating File” which is sent with the Start-Up Kit once you join the “ZoeC Costumes” Group. 

All about the business:
According to Childcare specialists, one of the most important kinds of imaginative play is pretending to be somebody else. i.e. role-play.  The 3 to 6 year old enjoys being somebody else and may sometimes use dramatic play to re-live incidents which were emotionally significant to him or her.  Characterization and role play are as essential to a child’s emotional development as the physical play of kicking balls and kiddie gardening.  They become “authors” of their own tale and script is controlled solely by the child.  This is their private world which they are making for themselves out of the raw material of the real world you show them.

Thanks to the likes of Walt Disney, some interesting and exciting characters exist and through the service offered by “ZoeC Costumes”, children can now wear authentic look-a-like costumes based on the following characters. (Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Woody, Jessie, Harry Potter, Garden Fairy, Rapunzel etc). More to follow…

There are 2 aspects to this business:  You can either sell the costumes and matching accessories or you have the option to rent the outfits you will be receiving in your starter-kit on a daily basis which is especially profitable for birthday parties, (all your outfits could be rented out for one birthday party).

What is the earning potential?

We will be advertising in national magazines on a regular basis thereby providing advertising for your areas. Your earning potential is directly relative to the amount of input you invest into this business. For example visit every nursery school, kiddie playcentre, organise tea parties at outside venues or even your own house. Use your own children to be your little models! Place regular ads in your local newspaper. Your kit should be used as samples.

There is a recommended retail pricelist on our website however this should by no means limit you in your pursuit of sales. You may charge more for your outfits depending on your area.

As far as the rental of outfits is concerned, the current average rental rate per costume is for R50.00 per day plus R150.00 refundable deposit.  Should you sign up a birthday party order and rent out your entire range of 17 costumes at R50.00 (excluding accessories) you will make R850.00 in one afternoon! How about 5 or 6 parties a month and you stand to make in excess of R4 000.00 for doing practically nothing and that excludes all your individual “per day orders”. The cost of this franchise can be recouped within the first month.

The advantage of this business is that you need to do very little physical work and both avenues of income will be advertising for themselves. A child will probably have difficulty in returning a rented outfit thereby providing you with an opportunity to sell an outfit as well as selling the outfits will give you exposure to do rentals as well. A mom at home with a tiny baby could do it. Even a part-time working woman can add to her income by renting out/selling children’s costumes. Also there is no reason why you cannot run a complementary business (for example birthday cakes, educational toys, books etc…). ZoeC Costumes will indirectly do advertising for these other businesses.   You have complete control over the running of your own business and there are no royalties or monies due to us.

We will inform you on a regular basis of new designs that will become available. Should you have enquiries and feedback from moms requesting specific designs, please let us know so we can add it to our range.

Running
It will be up to you to ensure upfront payment and dispatch of the orders to your customers. As with a normal order it will have to be paid in full before we consider it confirmed. Please fill in a normal order form – we will confirm your order by return email, applying a 10% discount and including postage fees. Any client coming directly to us will be redirected to the franchisee to place their order. The website will also have a list of franchisees and their contact details adding to your exposure.

Definition of the area
An area will be defined on an individual basis (for example Strand/Somerset West/Gordon’s Bay (Western Cape) are small enough to take one franchise whereas Johannesburg could be divided into several franchise areas).

What is the Cost and What will we provide?:
Should you decide to join our group and open a “ZoeC Costumes” in your area, the procedure is as follows:

• We will fax you an “Agents Particulars” Form as well as the Purchase Agreement.
• The cost to start up your own “ZoeC Costumes” is an affordable R7 500.00 which includes a Starter Kit of 17 outfits etc.                 
• A 50% deposit (R3 750.00) is required to secure your area, along with your completed “Agents Particular” Form and signed “Purchase Agreement”. (For obvious reasons, there can only be one “ZoeC Costumes” per area.)
• The balance of the money (R3 750.00) will become due on the dispatch date of your Starter Kit.

What is in my Starter Kit and what can you expect?
In your Starter Kit, you will receive the following:

• 17 Outfits : Sleeping Beauty (standard), Sleeping Beauty (deluxe), Cinderella, Jasmine, Tinkerbell, Belle, Ariel, Snow White, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Fairy Dress, Woody, Jessie, Harry Potter, Barbie Gold, Party Barbie, Rapunzel  (free 18th outfit by combining Woody and Jessie to make up Cowboy outfit)
• 100 Business Cards
• 5 Laminated Colour brochures
• Marketing and Operating Procedure (ideas and suggestions to assist you in your new home run business.)

• All calls/emails/faxes/orders falling under your area will be forwarded on to you
• And most importantly, our continued backup, assistance and support .

Accessories are not included and need to be ordered separately. All additional orders will be discounted by 10%.
